Each “JC Fit City – CITY RUNNERS” running group in various district has dedicated “Running Leaders.” Our running leaders have gained thorough theoretical and practical training under RunOurCity, equipping them with the skills to plan, organize, and lead running activities while strengthening the team relationships. Together with our running leaders, we promote the idea of “Together Run, Together Fun.” In addition, the “Running Leaders” will support other projects under RunOurCity or co-host large group running events with us, making them essential members of our community.

Group Introduction: Follow the Wild Trail Runners awakens your endurance instincts. Our spirit is to embrace the mountains and run freely among nature. By blending movement with the wilderness, members experience the beauty of the outdoors, ignite their sense of adventure, and build a deeper connection with nature.
Trail running is more than a physical challenge, it is a journey of the mind and spirit. Through interaction with the mountains and with ourselves, we grow personally and find our own sense of belonging in the great outdoors.

“RunOurCity’s motto, ‘Running together is happiness 💗 ,’ truly speaks for me. As a run leader, I gather our runners every week to run together 🏃🏻 ♂ 🏃🏻 ♀ and encourage one another. No matter fast or slow, witnessing everyone’s persistence and progress is inspiring 👍🏼 . Stay determined, never give up, and keep moving forward happily. Running will change your life. “

It’s not about speed, but returning safe and sound with a smile. We look out for one another and enjoy nature together. My goal is to help teammates step away from the concrete jungle and explore Hong Kong’s stunning hills—building fitness while fostering a safe, supportive, and vibrant outdoor community. And my approach is guided by a mindful trail spirit, we never rush against the clock. Safety comes first, backed by strong group camaraderie and warmth, ensuring every trek leaves you refreshed, recharged, and inspired by the views.

Group Introduction: Chill Fit Running is the newest CITY RUNNERS group in Wan Chai, created for those who love an easy, relaxing vibe while staying active. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced runner, you can find your own rhythm here and enjoy a truly welcoming running environment. Our run leaders are not professional coaches, and speed is not the goal. The focus is on building steady, comfortable exercise habits together. Running routes pass through iconic landmarks such as the Hong Kong Convention Centre and the Hopewell Centre, making Wan Chai a perfect place for a sensible and scenic run. The group name represents the idea of finding a pace that “fits you,” while also capturing the genuine neighbourhood spirit of Wan Chai’s running community. No pressure — all you need is a pair of running shoes and the desire to move. Between the rhythm of the city and the rhythm of your feet, Wan Chai welcomes a new group that’s made just for those who want to run and chill!

“I hope every runner can enjoy running and grow together through our group. With the City Runners platform, I’ll keep exploring new routes and running them with my teammates. “

“I started as a runner who would be out of breath on every uphill. After completing my first 10K Streetathon in 2024, I found myself deeply drawn to running. Joining the running group gave me a deeper understanding of the sport. I realized that running isn’t always about speed — what matters most is safety, happiness, and health. As a run leader, I hope to spread positivity and inspire everyone to embrace joyful change, feeling the energy and vitality that running brings. I’m Angel, your ‘angel’ run leader, and I look forward to your support and guidance as we run happily together!”

“Since my first 10 K in 2006, I’ve kept up the habit of signing up for a race every year. In recent years, joining _City Runners_ programs and leader training has deepened my belief that ‘running together is happiness.’ Happiness motivates persistence, and that persistence has made running part of my daily rhythm. I love exploring new routes and sharing them — leading a running group keeps me consistent, because every weekly meetup is the best motivation.”

“My two years of running have taught me to observe more closely and understand others’ perspectives better. I believe in the power of teamwork to help us reach our goals together. To encourage more people to start exercising, I wanted to organize a running group. Through running, we can meet friends from different backgrounds and enjoy the sweat earned together. Come join us — let’s run towards health and happiness!”
📍 Location: Eastern District, Hong Kong Island
🗓️ Time: Every Tuesday from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM
🏃 Leaders: 強哥, Bosco Cheng, Danny Ng, Pierre Chu, Stephen Chan
📖 Group Introduction: The meeting point for the group is the Eastern District Sports Centre, which inspired the name Eastern Island. As for the name Weight Gain Run, it playfully recalls how feeling a little out of shape often motivates us to run. Running not only helps us lose weight but also relieves stress, keeping us healthier and happier. The group’s motto Fun Run expresses the simple joy of running. We hope participants who join the Eastern Island Weight Gain Run on Tuesday evenings can fully enjoy the fun and energy of running together.

“When my coach recommended the Run Leader Training Course and my partner Stephen encouraged me to enroll, we joined together because he wanted to become a leader. That’s how I became one of the run leaders for the Eastern District group. I hope new members keep joining every week, bringing fresh energy through new routes and sharing. My goal is to pass on knowledge, encourage those with potential to step up as new leaders, share our workload, and one day let the current leaders retire with pride.”

Group Motto: “Always move forward, together.” Goal: Take one more step toward your dreams Direction: Joined the running group in 2025 through the JC Fit City programme and became a run leader six months later to serve other runners. Looking ahead, I hope more people will join and let the spirit of running shape their lives — “Start from zero, enjoy the process, find your rhythm, break your limits.”

Motto: No need to run fast, as long as we clear our plates!
Goal: Not aiming for speed, just aiming for progress.
Direction: Safety first—injury-free and pain-free.

“When my coach recommended the Run Leader Training Course, I joined it partly because I cheekily wanted free race entries (laughs). After graduating, I looked back at an unsuccessful neighborhood night‑run group I co-founded in 2019. Determined to try again, I started a new group in Sai Wan Ho with support from my partner, Keung. We hoped to build one of the best‑known night‑running teams in Eastern Hong Kong Island.”

📖 Group Introduction: Join CITY RUNNERS– Relax Quarry Bay, an active running group in the Eastern District. Guided by our run leaders, participants can enjoy the fun of running on Friday mornings while building a healthier, more active lifestyle. Pacing is flexible, some run faster, others take it easy, but running together is what makes it joyful. Let’s run together happily.

“ In 2023, I met a like‑minded running friend during a training course. After completing the Run Leader Training Course together, we partnered with City Runners to establish Relax Quarry Bay. Our goal is to let fans of running enjoy easy runs along the Quarry Bay Promenade — turning running into a form of entertainment, Looking ahead, besides our regular sessions at Quarry Bay, we hope to go beyond, tackling Hong Kong’s four major trails. Before our second anniversary, we aim to leave our footprints on every trail — MacLehose, Wilson, Lantau, and Hong Kong Island.”

“The most important thing is to stay happy and enjoy the journey. Having a group of like‑minded friends matters most. My goal is to help more people fall in love with running and live with more positivity and energy.”

I love all kinds of sports — running, hiking, ball games, and fitness. A few years ago, I also obtained an Advanced Personal Fitness Trainer Certificate. I hope to promote an active lifestyle within the community, as running is the easiest sport to start and easiest to keep up with when shared with friends. Let’s run together, running as one lets us go farther! Goal: Bring the habit of exercise into the community and get everyone moving Direction: Continue learning about running theories and techniques and share that knowledge with teammates

Group Motto: “Spread positive energy and enjoy every run with laughter and conversation each week while releasing endorphins for true happiness.” Direction: Through weekly City Runners sessions, I hope to run easily and happily with other exercise lovers — chatting, running, and sharing positivity. When time allows, I’ll guide everyone to Hong Kong’s mountain trails to enjoy the scenery and take photos together. You’ll never know how good exercise feels until you try it. May everyone be brave enough to take that first step and discover the benefits of staying active!

📖 Group Introduction: We are not just running but also rediscovering our own rhythm between the concrete jungle and the sea breeze. HK East Bonito Pace Pack takes its English name from “Chai Yu” (柴漁) in Cantonese, which sounds like “bonito,” while also symbolising a group of cheerful and “urban fishermen.” We are not professional runners, but a group rooted in Hong Kong Island East who chase not personal bests but the spirit of jog: casting our nets with our footsteps to catch moments of sweat, laughter, and ocean air scattered across the city. To us, running should never feel heavy or serious. “Chai” (柴) represents fun and companionship among friends, while “Yu” (漁) reminds us of patience and reward where we wait for health and happiness to come as we run. Our track is the everyday scenery of Island East — simple, real, and full of life.

Group Motto: “Watch the front and back to make sure everyone finishes together.” Goal: “Keep running long and strong — finish injury‑free.” Direction: Maintain consistency in exercise and work hard for good health

Enjoy an easy, relaxed Monday night run, build healthy habits, and share laughter along the way. Whether you prefer speed or a slow pace, running together is what makes it happy. Group motto: Regular exercise, reduced sedentary behavior Goal: Long-distance running, long-term friendship Direction: Running is not a solitary activity, but a collective endeavor. By uniting with fellow runners, we can track our progress, participate in races, and record our efforts and growth through our achievements.

“Running is a self‑challenge—from the first few kilometres to a marathon, it shows perseverance and willpower. I hope everyone runs happily each week; it trains our bodies and builds friendship and motivation. We can also organize more activities and maybe even run the world together 👏 🏃 ♂ ➡ Long runs, long friendships! “

“I was once an elementary school cross‑country champion and a secondary‑school runner‑up for 8–10 K races, but I stopped for many years. After gaining weight during motherhood — almost thirty pounds — I started running again in 2017 to lose weight. I ran off the fat, gained happiness, lightness, self‑healing, courage, confidence, and resilience. Knowing the benefits of running, I enjoy it even more, especially when running with like‑minded friends. I’m grateful to have health, strength, and the ability to run. I hope everyone stays healthy, happy, and fulfilled. Run together, farther and happier — it’s true ✌ ✌ . “

“I first started running to challenge myself and improve both body and mind, but I’ve also learned to appreciate life through it. Running alone builds discipline and willpower, but running with others gives greater motivation and shared growth. I hope all runners, old and new, can feel the power of teamwork, support one another, and move toward their goals together. With persistence and companionship, running can bring endless joy and become a positive force in life. “

"Our running group unites us around a shared goal to grow and press forward together. Backed by my fellow runners, I joined the pacesetter programme as an assistant leader to learn my group leading and leadership skills. Running together helps us connect, encourage one another, and continuously improve.
My hope is for more people to fall in love with running—to discover their potential, boost their vitality, reach their goals, meet new friends, and take away bags of positive energy."

"Ask how long a 10k takes, and you might say an hour or so. My answer? 10 years! Back at school, I always came dead last in PE. Years later, curiosity got the better of me—was I still in last place? That spark kept me going on and off, leading me to complete my first 10k, join a running group, and push on to even greater distances..."

Join us for a relaxing evening run, make new friends, and let exercise help you unwind from the week. Run towards health and happiness, and take another light step on life’s joyful path!

“ Two years ago I couldn’t run at all. I used to ache after short runs and only ran once a week. Then I started learning through online resources and joined JC Fit City’s free running and leader training classes. I gained knowledge, met many runners, and discovered an entire community of running groups in Hong Kong. With the support of City Runners and my classmates from the Run Leader course, we established MBees. Our goal is to connect people through running — sharing joy, building friendships, and making life more exciting. “

“With my limited ability, I want to bring together people who rarely exercise, help them find time to run, and discover the fun of running until it becomes a habit — and a source of health and happiness. I hope the group operates smoothly, with more and more participants joining and enjoying the experience. After each session, I reflect and communicate with leaders from other groups to see what we can improve, ensuring our future activities run even better.”

“In one year, I lost weight from 90 kg to 63 kg — from running out of breath after 100 metres to finishing a half‑marathon! I know the pain and worry faced by beginners struggling with fitness. Over my first year with City Runners, I’ve gained valuable, heart‑warming experiences and practical knowledge from both training and workshops. Now, I want to share it all with our group’s friends, to encourage everyone to care for their health. Running keeps us in shape and helps us de‑stress from daily life! “

Motto: "Not about speed—just going further and getting healthier."
Goal: "I'll help you tackle every session at a relaxed, happy pace so you can blow off some steam and shake off everyday stress."
Direction: "From sitting still to getting moving, from short distance to going the distance—enjoying the sheer joy of sweat, health, and great company."

Together we laugh, sweat, and rediscover the simple joy of human connection and good health. Everyone is welcome to join, let’s run farther and happier, side by side!

“Becoming a run leader lets me gain experience, expand knowledge, recognize my shortcomings, and learn from runners of different ages. Teaching and learning go hand in hand. Through this role, I hope to build confidence and improve communication skills — not only with fellow runners but also among leaders as we learn to collaborate and build team spirit. Running releases endorphins that ease negative emotions; bringing that happiness to others is something I truly want to do. Going forward, I will keep a lifelong learning mindset to deepen my understanding of sports and share knowledge with others. Through a relaxed atmosphere, I hope to promote healthy and happy living and spread positive energy across Hong Kong. I will also set goals for our runners so they can keep improving with each session. Beyond joy and well-being, I hope our members can progress to joining races — and one day, maybe even compete overseas as a team!”

“Welcome to our _TKO Dash Squad_ , a place overflowing with endorphins! We’ll run that first step with you, stay by your side as you keep going, and accompany you on every mile ahead.”

“I’ve been running for over ten years, mostly alone or in training groups. This year, I joined the fifth Run Leader Workshop under RunOurCity and met a group of enthusiastic runners from Sham Shui Po. Together, we share a common belief — to bring the joy of running to our community. The knowledge and skills I gained gave me confidence to become a run leader for ‘Sparkling Spirit Pulse’. Our first goal was to lead everyone to the base of Stonecutters Bridge for a group photo. Each week, our five run leaders observe members’ conditions, adjust routes and distances, and gradually enhance training through games. After six sessions, most runners have become close friends, we’re now like a big family.”

“Through the programme, I became a run leader and founded a sustained, free fitness platform to promote running and bring health and happiness to others — something I’ve always wanted to do. In our two-hour group runs, I hope to help teammates build confidence and improve their abilities. As members progress, I also keep learning, joining courses and reading to grow with them. Looking ahead, I hope more runners of different backgrounds will join, connect, and motivate each other toward growth, health, and happiness.”

📍 Location: Mainly in Sham Shui Po area (sometimes in other districts)
🗓️ Time: Every Monday from 7:45 PM to 9:15 PM

📖 Group Introduction: Whether you are a working professional, a student, or from any other background, it is easy to feel unmotivated on a Monday as the new week begins. That is why Run Fire Hearted brings participants together for a relaxed run or walk on Monday evenings, helping everyone recharge through exercise. The group aims to build healthy, joyful running habits and to share that happiness with others. As we believe when joy is shared, happiness doubles.

“I was born and raised here in the district for over forty years, and I have deep affection for this community. By coincidence, I went from being a homebody to a runner, meeting many friends who changed my personality and outlook on life. There’s no take two in life, so I’m thankful to the City Runners platform for giving me the chance to share my passion in small ways. I hope to unite like‑minded friends to enjoy easy, happy runs together, keep improving, and encourage new runners to discover this joy and build healthy bodies.”

“Running can be a quiet moment for one person or a joyful celebration for many. Even though every runner’s goal and story are different, by sharing and encouraging one another we overcome every challenge together. I hope every participant will discover joy through the process. Let us stay humble, keep learning and improving, and pursue the deeper values that running can bring.”

“Through CITY RUNNERS, I’ve learned how collective strength helps us carry forward our original intention. Everyone has different goals in running, but taking the first step is already half the success. I hope Run Fire Hearted can lead runners to build healthy habits, rediscover their purpose, and keep our passion burning bright. “

“I set a goal each year to learn new things and explore new interests. By putting learning into practice, I hope to help others in need. Let’s work together — no injuries, no pain — and run our way to a wonderful life.”

"Why run? I was carrying extra weight—225 lbs two years ago, to be exact. A mate’s casual joke sparked my running journey. Shedding the weight is tough, but the dopamine hit makes it all worth it. Through the pacesetter programme, I’ve met a great crowd of runners, visited groups across different neighbourhoods, soaked up their fantastic atmospheres, and connected with the running community on my own two feet."

"Hey! I’m Amy, and I’ve been running with the squad for 18 months. I used to think running was a solo game—joining this crew proved it can be a proper party. I used to chase speed, but being an assistant taught me that slowing down gives you the best perspective. Loving how we all pull together every session and watching everyone crush their own progress!"

My aim in my support role is for every runner to enjoy the journey and find their own pace, free from comparison. I truly believe that with consistency and time on your feet, both speed and endurance naturally follow.

"From weeping after ten minutes to logging 200+ km a month, you won’t have to run this path alone. Slow pace? No worries. Giving up? Not on my watch! I’m slowing down to keep the fire stoked so you can catch your rhythm. "To keep a flame alive, someone has to feed the fire. "I've got your back—you focus on breathing, I’ll set the pace, and we’ll smash it together."

“ Looking back at my first marathon on Tolo Harbour Highway — that was in the late 1980s! I stopped for years afterward. After putting work stress behind me, I wanted new hobbies to stay active and spent some meaningful time running again. I reset my gear, headed outdoors 🏃 , and rediscovered the joy of running. The scenic waterfront near my home motivates me too. Joining a running group has made it even more fun — we encourage and support each other, and together we completed my first half‑marathon. My next goal: finish the full Hong Kong Streetathon! I’m still learning and rebuilding my knowledge as a new run leader. My hope is to accompany beginners while growing together. It’s a blessing to meet on the same track — so let’s keep running side by side, one step at a time, and build a healthy life together 💪 Go for it! “

As a running group assistant leader, I support our head leader with technique while leading warm-ups and stretches to minimise injury risk.
I love helping beginners grow through running—watching their form during sessions and checking in on recovery. Recognising their effort builds motivation, consistency, and discipline.
Running is a race against yourself where victory comes from persistence. The path is under your feet; enjoy every step.

"I love connecting with everyone in our group—many have far more running experience than me. We look out for each other on the route, pointing out uneven pavement and crossing roads safely together.
Our Kwai Fong Saturday morning runs always draw questions from locals and road crews asking if we're in a race! Wearing our matching running group tees brings a real sense of unity as we encourage one another."

“As a run leader, I hope to inspire more people to take up running, learn how to become a better leader, and bring together like‑minded runners to form a stronger, closer team. I also plan to collaborate with running groups in other districts to organize more cross‑district runs.”

"My golden rule is simple: run safe, get home safe. My goal is zero harm on every run, and my direction? Any way goes—as long as we’re out there enjoying the path!"

"Motto: Forget speed and distance—we're here to sweat together and make friends for life!
Goal: Spreading positive energy and inspiring more people to fall in love with running.
Direction: Run Life Balance.
We was built on a simple premise: empowering everyone to lace up and run whenever, wherever. We don't compare paces or miles; we chase the joy of moving together and building authentic friendships. Whether you're just starting out or taking it easy, our weekly runs welcome you with open arms. Let's bring the energy, stay connected, and build a healthy, vibrant crew together!"

"In line with our running initiative, we're helping everyone look out for each other's posture so we can run safely without getting injured. Running in a group makes it so much fun—it gets people hooked on running, keeps them consistent, and helps us all go the extra mile."

"Get to know the run leader's vision for the group and show respect to everyone—including yourself and the leaders. Help out by building people's enthusiasm and running ability so they can go the distance. Keep an eye on everyone’s individual pace and safety, offering support and encouragement along the way. Above all, keep it relaxed with plenty of easy runs and fun runs!"

"I'm happy to help out wherever there's a gap! If the run leader can't make it, I can take the lead and guide the group. And whenever we have new runners joining, I'm more than happy to act as tail-end support to keep an eye on them."

"Hi guys, Hermia here! I’m an assistant with Love to Run in Tuen Mun, mainly helping out with the warm-ups and cool-downs. I’m relatively new to running and definitely not a speed demon, but I always love a good laugh and run whenever I’m free. I usually hang out in the Happy and Casual groups. My real strengths are taking photos, taking selfies, and making sure new joiners feel right at home! 😃 Thrilled to be part of our group and meet more local runners in the neighbourhood! 👍"

"I went from a 9-minute pace with my heart hammering at 180 bpm to coasting through 21K while singing along. I never chased numbers or speed—I just stuck to my own rhythm and kept putting one foot in front of the other. 7-minute pace, 8-minute pace—it doesn't matter; you still cross the exact same finish line. This path was never about beating anyone else. It was about proving to myself, stride by stride: turns out, I had it in me all along."

"I assist our run leaders with warm-ups, keep an eye out for runners if the pack splits so everyone stays on course, and I always pack a basic first-aid kit just to be safe. My personal motto is simple: No need to rush; safety comes first so we can keep running for years to come. Here's to making progress, staying healthy, and enjoying the journey together!"
